ugh! another problem!!

When you drained oil before was it milky? Evidence of water. Did you run through any puddles or lots of slushy snow? Look for ice build up around shift lever. Check external shift mechinism under clutch cover. Check that shift lever is tight to shaft.

okay i took the cover off and found that a plastic white gear broke and half of it was jammed between the shifter star and shifter . do i really need it?

That's the oil injection pump gear,
Hopefully your pre mixing your gas and oil ?
If not, you are now !
Let us know if your were running pre mix or stock injection ?
If injection, do not even start the bike till we get you straight
And look towards the front inside clutch cover and make sure all of the gear is removed,
And we'll go from there

the oil injection has actuallu never been used on it! so yes i premix 32:1 . all the gear is out and the little pin

Sounds like the pump complained about running dry, siezed and threw the plastic gear off in anger!

A very good reason to remove the oil pump, or at least the gear when performing an oil block off ritual.

did you get the metal clip the pin holds in against too ??????

yep, ride on, if you............

1. did the required heat cycles,
2. retorque the head and base bolts
3. pass a leakdown test
4. check your oil level, and for leaks around the clutch cover gasket

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

if you skipped any of those steps, you'll be back on here again very soon seeking more advice
