trx 250r airbox??

only alteration I needed was to cut a relief inthe side (small and easy) for part of the frame. drilled holes in the top and it is held in with oversize zipties. I dont know about clearance isues with the stock shock, but I do have more up travel than most with no issues.

you want to use the 87-88-89 airboot as the 86 has a big resonator in the side, but you can plug that with a freeze plug if need be.

thanks alot thats the info i needed, now what size carb can i use with the box and can it be modified for the stock carb?

it was designed for a 34, you can cram up to a 38 in it. it can be used on a stock carb with a reducer (you can get one made at a muffler shop) it's just muffler tubing sized for the boot and neked down to the carb bell diameter, then use a piece of tubing to connect.

duncan racing uses a 250 airbox they sell a kit tooo id just use a 250r stock 34mm carb too

ok, now what about using the 250r carb? they can be found pretty cheap are they any good? or would that be to big of a carb for the few mods i have?

well..since I have no idea what mods you have... the 250r carb has always been a popular swap, no airbox lid, pipe, and it should work, would b better with a little porting though. yes, you can cram it into the stock intake, but eventually it will fail causing a massive airleak and blown motor, so you need to get a bigger intake manifold.

lol, very true... whats your thaughts on the guys post about his bargain? the shee arms and swinger on the blasty? easy swap?

search, I found 3 different places for $40 in 5 minutes. odds are it's a stark part from another bike..maybe an older 125 of maybe an 80?? maybe and older 250??? I do know I found something searching a cycle salvage, but that was in 1989 way beyond my memory. you have the internet to help you search, when I was doing all this there was no internet..no ebay, you went to cycle salvages and searched, you took calipers to dealerships and measured
