tri-z and yfz450 ?

i'm not likeing the math there. as a common rule multiply what you think it is gunna cost by 2 to how much it will actually cost, especially that he wont tell you whats wrong. thats why if u are gunna buy a POS you should buy one price as a POS, my vote is no, nice looking bike though. I love how he says you wont find one that clean. All you have to do is find one that runs good and its a hell of a lot cleaner than that is :p

i just mean he is saying it would cost 500 when it would actually be 700, don't mean those to be exact numbers, i am not in to the currency and am actually not sure how much a velve job costs, but you always have to expect to pay more

sorry i just read it again im half asleep lol ... are valves hard to do yourself?

no you need to know what your doing though. and if it needs a $500 valve service it must need some serious valve train work. if it ticks and smokes blue it will be valves

go see what it needs. look at it in person

i was just on the fone to him he said the crankshaft ? thats gonna cost more then 500 right?i can get hold of hotrods with con rods for 300 but a mechanic will charge more for labour? im ok with 2strokes never had experience on a 4stroke so i doubt i'd be able to do it ? i might be going to look at it next week!

The 450 looks like a 04-05 model that someone put an 06 and up swing arm on. The handle bars rise up higher than the 06 and up models. And the color scheme wasnt that in 06 (white plastics, maroon frame)

If it runs but needs work it could be 2 things. The crank is starting to seize up and it will be hard to start. Or it needs a topend and it smokes alot. Both are easy and cheap fixes if you do it yourself. Ive rebuilt a ton of yfz's and they arent difficult if you use your manual and a torque wrench.

Id get a real 06 and p they put alot of changes over the 1st 2 years that make them a better quad.

if i was to get a crank do you think i would be able to do it>? based on utube vids and users manuals? lol ... and would i be aswell to get a vitos +(whatever the max is without trenching ) or a stroker IF i were to buy it ? lol

Id check ebay. I get used ones on there all the time for under a hundred bucks shipped to my door.

You'll need a topend gasket set and a used crank.

Special tools needed(if you dont have an air impact):

clutch holder tool(I have one I bought from tusk it works awesome)
Flywheel puller for yfz450
Crank install tool from tusk( I have one that works great, but most time I just use my press)
Torque wrench.

Download a good manual and your set.

looked at it last night ! by far the cleanst used quad iv seen EVERYTHING but the engine is perfect !!! he might p/x for my blaster if not im sellin it :(

just wondering why the title has tri-z in it, i see nothing about a tri-z in the ad.

also if the motor is messed up, it will be costly to fix. valves are not cheap for that 450.

lol not really, i had my rappy running but the valves were a little tweaked then they finally fell apart and fubared my engine
