Hey guys need a new top end on the blaster. which is better and cheaper. i found weisco has a kit for 189 but just wanna see if anything is cheaper but still as reliable, thanks.

I'm running Vertex pistons. $67 . I ran one last year and just tore the motor down. Piston still looks great. I'm sticking with them unless I find problems.
i have no idea pretty new to the 2strokes well lets say quads period. its a 01 after market carb, pipe and silencer. thats all i kno. just bought it afew weeks back. sorry not much help
There is a size stamped on the top of the piston. Should say .25, .50 and so on, the numbers meaning how many mm over it is bored. Stock size should have STD on it. You will have to take the head off and most likely clean the top of the piston.

i purchased a NAMURA piston kit for my blaster its a 68mm kit but other sizes are available kit comes with top end gaskets, base, and head, exaust gasket, reed cage gasket, piston, rings, circlips pin and bearings. ist a good buy and the piston is beefed up in comparison to the wiseco.
update time. went upv to start tearin at the motor. only thing is., the garage i was supposed to use colapsed cuz of the snow. sooo im screwd for now. fun stuff.
ok so today i finally had decent whether. took off the head and the top of the piston is chipped and froze up. the cylinder dont look scarred or anything so thats good. ima get the piston out tomarrow and go get it matched.
so today i took the piston off and the rod aint movin at all. so i took the side cover off on the right side and there is a washer on one of the gears that is bent. im really starting to think that my bearings went bad. any help yet? oh yeah and in the tranny oil i found a sh*t load of metal shavings.
you prolly have a chunk of piston broke off and down inside the cases keeping the crank from turning, the one i just got is the second one that has this problem, gotta open the cases and at least clean it out, if not do a new crank and mains
yeah i just set myself up a work bench in the basement so ill be doin all this soon. i got the online manual but should i go and buy the actual book for it/
