is a toomey b1 kit too hard for a 14 year old to install mostly by himself. i don't no much about 4 wheelers. the jetting part sound way to hard. is it?? if it is whats an easier pipe to put on??

It's not hard to put on but you MUST rejet if installed. If you don't have the skills to do it rite, ether learn, take it to a shop or don't do it at all.

i have installed many pipes in my days lol like 3 haha but its not hard if you have experiance you will have to move the needle clip and rejet the main and possibly the pilot. for beginners i would take it to a shop and ask them if you can watch them do it so you get an idea

If you can read you can learn :D . Either buy a Clymers Repair manual or there is a linc to a download somewhere around this forum. I don't know if the D.L. has any info on jetting, I do know Clymers does. Also has a good diagram of what throttle opening controls which circut in carb. Will also show how to remove exhaust. You will need a manual to help you do lots of things on your quad and save lots of money doing so. It will probably cost about $100 to install a pipe and jet it at a shop X(

It's up to you to read and decide if YOU have the ability and tools to do the job correctly!! If you are unsure of a particular step ask on here. Wether you do it or take it to a shop, wash it real good around exhaust, carb and underside of tank, this keeps from getting dirt in where you don't want and makes it easier to work on. If it's real dirty a shop will charge you to clean it :o .

Get ahold of Toomy for jetting suggestions/starting point. We all had to start somewhere I:I

Its generally known you wont really have to touch the pilot, just the main and possibly the needle.

Stock main jet is a ~230 I think. With a Toomey youre looking at a ~280-310 realm. It really depends on where you live too.

I cant take jetting advice from these guys on here, cause I live at a higher altitude than most of them combined LOL. Im riding at ~8000 feet on average. Sometimes around 5500-6500, sometimes at 9000-10000 so my jetting will be far leaner than someone who lives at sea level to 2000 feet.

But yeah, the pipe install is easy. Positioning it can be a pain, but it isnt too hard. You shouldnt have any problems replacing the actual pipe itself. The hard part is rejetting the carb, which isnt much of a problem either. Im sure theres plenty of threads on here talking about Toomey B1 jetting on a stock carb to get you a good ballpark figure.

I dont even own a Toomey or a stock carb, but Ive read enough about them in various jetting threads, Im pretty sure my jetting ballpark is pretty close.

Dont take my word for it without searching yourself though thats for sure.
