too good to be true?

it's a toss up... either the dude is loaded and doesn't care about losing some cash. just doesn't ride and needs it gone... or it got the piss ran out of it and it needs work. i'd take a look at it.. if it doesn't have any major dings or scrapes in the frame and the motor seems to run well then i'd say go for it.
 
X@ shawnssadler is on top of it.... could be legit. I'd think about mentioning running the numbers and seeing how the guy reacts to that. If it's hot and transported halfway across the country it may or may not show up as stolen but if he KNOWS it's hot, he'll be REAL jumpy when you mention something about running the VIN on it. Mention that your really good friend's dad is a cop too.

Don't forget that third option..... that could be the pay-off on it and the guy wants you to "take over payments". Be wary...
