yes it comes out the top, after you compress the spring with your fingers, turn it upside down and the retainer will fall out, look at how it is now before doing that so you can replace it, take the slide to your "clean" work area, get a small phillips screwdriver and take the 2 little screws out down inside the slide, then the needle will come out, let us know what groove it's on, and we'll go from there
if i'm not mistaken toomey calls for a 330 main, stock pilot, needle on 3rd or 4th groove down, and airscrew at 3/4 turns out
