Just picked me up one of these babies. Anybody else ever deal with something like this? I have heard it scratches the rims pretty bad but the rims I deal with are already pretty beat up. I will give it a review when I get it and try it out. Just bought an 01 Quadrunner 250 that needs four new tires so I can test it out with that.

I bought A HF one for about $35 on sale and it works pretty good. Takes a little getting used to how to use the leverage correctly, and mounting to a stable surface is mandatory.

I was able to break the beads (front & rear) on a couple sets of ATV rims/tires and I've mounted a few fronts with it. I didn't feel like wrestling with the razr beadlocks so I paid a guy to put the rears on for me. X( Car tires are no problem with the HF unit.

To avoid scratches, I used rags to protect my rims. If the rims are painted, then it'll be time to repaint after mounting. But if the rims aren't, then use rags and you can easily sand out any scratches you might get.

Good luck!
