Tie rod ends

How do you put them in? Every time i try to screw the castle nuts on the threads spins with the nuts? :(

try holding the tie rod end with a bar (lever it down) that should hold it tight in the taper then screw nut on while holding it down. hope this helps

If the nuts are tight on the threads something is wrong.

The nuts must spin freely on the threads before you install them otherwise they will give you greif in the future.

You may be able to force them on with damaged threads or tapers, but getting them off next time could prove to be a complete nightmare.

Agreed. I have been there done that with tie rods. I would clean those threads up before attempting it agian

when i said hold it down with a bar i didnt mean force the nut onto it.... i meant if the end is spinning in the taper of the carrier you could hold it tight. this works wit tie rod ends on cars when putting old ends back on...

I really hope that you do not have problems getting them off when you need to.

It is a very different story when the nuts are tight when you break the tapers, the only way to remove them will be with a pickle fork which stresses the joint and wrecks the rubbers.
