thought you guys would get a laugh from this

yeah i have to put up with that every single day around here... had some of my friends tell me that their badass 350 warriors would destroy my blasty and the warrior is all stock lmfao...

I'm failing to see how they are wrong. A newer 450 quad like a YFZ, LTR, or KTM will beat a quadzilla in a drag up until top speed where the Zilla will beat it in gearing. Quadzilla's are powerful and all that jazz, but they are lucky to dyno 45hp stock. Somebody posted a bone stock dyno of one, and he dynoed in at around 45hp on a fairly fresh top end. He went on to do some Dr. Q related minor mods and got up to 51hp, and made some more aggressive mods and then was making some big power over 90hp. Even so, stock they are "only" around 45hp.....a lot less than you would think from a 500cc 2 stroke. The YFZ, LTR, and KTM make these numbers as well and have the advantage of a broader and more powerful torque curve, plus a weight advantage.

Fact of the matter?.....I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a stock for stock a YFZ, LTR, or KTM beat a Zilla in a drag up until top speed.

my buddie on his zilla vs a 450 that had been kicking ass all day.. zilla wins I:I

YouTube - mike vs 450 lawton dirt drags 9/25/10

Obviously not stock though. I can take the fairly modded banshee and it will take 99% of the 450's out there and most of the Zilla's as well. When it comes to dragging with an OEM engine, banshee's have and still will reign that area, although the newer DS650 and Raptor 700 big bores coming out are definitely giving them a run for the their money.

I found one of the old dyno graphs. This was after a pipe, reeds, and a few other things. Mods are listed in the bottom of the graph.

It depends on whats done to the Zilla. I hate to say it but your average one you see in the dirt is clapped out and guys still think FMF makes a good pipe.
The everyman Zilla owner hasn't heard of DrQ, Jerry Hall, or Aaem.
500's are grunters not rpm HP makers. If you ever ride a Quadzilla it's like a fast couch lol
I will say this dollar for dollar on the mods the Zilla will take a 450 as they are ticking time bombs at around 70hp where as the Zilla can make that and more all day for less $$$$.

I have a Jerry Hall ported cylinder and an AAEN pipe and its a whole different machine than our stock 87zilla we had. and our old built (high-comp, cammed, ported head) YFZ450 doesn't come close to my current zilla.
