Had a couple people ask what the car in my avatar is.
Figured I would post a high res version. It is what I drive when I am limited to staying between the lines..

Last upgrade was jet hot coating on turbo manifold.

wow man very nice! does that GTX motor do alot better on FWD?

what turbo you running? times? numbers?

ive always wanted to find a clean 323 gtx but its hard

DSM's are cool when the tranny still shifts and the cranks not walkin'...

which isnt much of the time

or when there isnt a hundred sensors going bad all at once. i swear, i replaced every sensor in mine, about one a week, until i had them all replaced, and then started over. and switches in the interior quit working all the time. it always ran, but it always ran like dog $h!+. everytime i'd get it back to running good, something would happen. i had so much hate for that car.

back on topic, nice car man. i've never seen one like it

I am running a garrett t3 super 60. its a 60 trim and a perfect match for the 1.8l
The last time I took it out to the track it ran 13.1 in the 1/4 @108 mph
The last time it was on the dyno it pulled 260 and 265 tq at the wheels on 16 psi.
I am getting ready to have a 3" stainless exhaust made so I am hoping for some better numbers on the dyno but none the less it is a very quick car, hell it only weighs 2300 lbs with a full tank of fuel.

The gtx engine setup in FWD handles about like any other fwd car, I did have a custom LSD made and FWD transmission uses equal length axles so wheel hop and torque steer isn't a problem.

nice ride!!!

a friend of mine had a 91 mazda 626 sedan, was originally a 2.2 n/a auto, its now got a 2.2 turbo and 5 speed from a mx6gt/probe gt in it..

on stock exhaust stock turbo stock intercooler it made 205 at the wheels at 15 psi... now he had 2.5 inch exhaust 15 psi, front mount, and a cutom built turbo.. stock mazda ihi exhaust side with a ford t bird tourbo coupe compressor side ( spare from my old t bird) car boogies!!

The vj11 and vj17 hybrid turbo is a pretty common thing for the probe mx6 guys. A few people in the 323 protege crowd run them since it bolts almost directly to the stock GTX turbo manifold. Its an upgrade over the gtx vj20 but I wanted to go a different route.

yup he went that way so he could run his stock manofold.. and keep his a/c

I still have all my accessories. Power steering and AC is a must on a street driven vehicle. It made things difficult when going to the aluminum radiator. I had to get creative with the lower return nipple.

Wana put it up against my talon?

id take that challenge if my talon was still alive (rip white biotch)

94 tsi awd crower 272 cams, ported/clipped big 16g, 3'' turbo back, 550 injectors, 255 pump, stock intercoolers in the right front corner to look 'stock' act 2600 clutch, 50/50 center diff 4 bolt rear, 6 bolt motor, 2g top end..

never had it at the track but i did put 10 cars on a buddys mustang that ran 13.6... i launched mild.. 3300-3500 ( balls out 'race' launch was 5200)

same with his.. ice cold a/c full sterio, tinted windows, power everything, he said his next project is going to be a forged internals, fully built turbo klze in a 323.... just a matter of finding a clean 323 in wisconsin

you really dont need power steering once you get moving.
i drove a 89 town car without power steering for the summer, once you get moving it isn't that bad.

and about AC, i have ice cold a/c in my current car, i still enjoy having the windows down.

I work outside daily. I have a great appreciation for the ac.
I do enjoy the windows down during the spring and fall..
