Think I ruined my engine.:(

As the title says. I finally figured my problem out. I sealed the reed cage and old intake boot with threebond. The boot gasket was either bad or boot warped. It leak tested correctly when cold. When warm and doing a plug chop run it would leak from the top of the boot. Mind you I did get a decent smoke ring and thought all was well. I ran it around for a few minutes last weekend and noticed it wasn't running right. I since have installed a new reed gasket with threebond and a NOS intake boot. I cranked the engine by hand and looked at the piston. It's a darker brown in color and didn't feel like much oil on it. I'm hoping it will stay working. It wasn't making funny noises or anything when I loaded it up. I'm curious if I could dump some premix oil down the spark plug hole and cycle the engine over a few times to lube it up? Maybe it is to far gone. I figure someone here can help me. Thanks. Have a great weekend.

I don't really get what you are saying but make sure you do a leak down test, jet it correctly and do a compression test to see what condition your motor is in. The oil in the fuel lines the motor and I don't understand the point of pouring 2 stroke oil in the plug hole.

I'm asking if there is a way to tell if I damaged the motor before it blows up. Sorry for the long winded post.

Compression test.

Pull off the header pipe and look up the exhaust port for signs of piston and ring damage.

Totally normal to have some carbon on piston crown, that's the burnt oil. Normal also to be reatively dry. Excessive carbon could be from cheep oil, to much oil, lean jetting.

Post type of oil, ratio or injected, how much time on piston, all mods and jetting.

Can't really see the top of the piston. Outside is dark brown color. I don't see any scoring on piston or cylinder. I use Lucas 2 stroke syn premix. 32:1 mix. I don't know how old the piston is. The machine was purchased used in 2011. Fmf fatty exhaust system. Air box lid removed. Moose 2 stage air filter. 300 main, 32.5 pilot. Needle in third clip position.

When the threebond is dry I will leak and compression test. That will be tomorrow night. I'm thinking the motor may be ok. Only time will tell. I report back tomorrow night.
