the legend vs. the bigbore

i have 2 buddies with both they almost all stock raptor is a gytr edition with 2 bros slip on and the banshee is old and tired with no box and uni filters but 700 wins constaly in short race banshee wins just because that raptor just wheelies constaly but when it settles down it gets by him its not by much but its a win for the raptor 700 and they do suck for trail riding way to much torque to be weaving through trees and they are brittle machines i rolled the 700 once and broke the radiator 2nd time my buddy rolled it agian and broke the new radiator he just put in and the 700 plastics are like from a toy they just feel so cheap. so this should settle the dispute.

you want all the torque you can get when trail riding you should be abile to just use your head and relize to take it easy in certain spots if the 700r is too much quad for the inexperienced rider then they should have gotten a raptor350
if you roll any machine it will have broken parts and if your LUCKY then you can just dust it off and go again.

the nice thing about blaster are that they are a simple quad with a simple motor and when you roll a blaster the worse your prolly ganna see is either some bent bars or a cracked body.

thats why i bought mine

usually stock for stock* on pavment the banshee will fall behind for first hundred or so yards then catc hup and pass the 700 if it has enough legs to stretch ,a boner stock banshee is prety slow and lately they have come along way with the raptor line and the banshee has the worst designed heaviest pipes and filter setup known to man ,but it doesnt take much for the tabels to turn ..once uncorked with some good wel lthought out boltons and raceported correctly it will slay a piped 700 raptor all day long even one with several thousands in engine mods fairly easy .

couldnt have said it better...

For all of you that have never been on one let alone sat or rode one really shouldn't be talking in this thread.

On a track or a drag strip most likely the Raptor will outperform, the suspension on a stock Banshee no matter what the year is horrible. The turning radius is horrible as well on Banshee's. It is extremely hard to stay in the "power band" throughout an entire track.

On the other hand the Raptor was designed to out do nearly everything yamaha has done with previous models. Granted it isn't designed to be racing mx, some still do and do pretty well.

Trust me guys I have sat on and rode both, nothing against the Banshee, (its still a yamaha, and I love yamaha to death) but it has nothing to offer a Raptor.

im curious, how does a raptor 700 compare to a yfz? obviously quite the difference in displacement, but yfz engines are really powerful for their displacement arent they?

700fi turbo raptor will DEEEstroy. I just think raptors are a bit like blasters. Fast, fun, but made like sh*t and prone to blowing up. No offense to anyone with a raptor but I would never buy one, I probably wouldn't buy a banshee either. The banshee is certainly the most badass quad ever built, without a doubt, but its not worth the aggrivation. I just assume go to the darkside and get a 400-450.

its not the power its the weight the yfz weighs like 70 lbs less i dont know for sure but its quite a bit.
the yfz will beat a raptor 700 in a drag but thats because the yfz is a race quad right out of the dealer.
the 700 is considered the doo all trail quad.

well the yfz doesnt need the bigger displacment .....its lighter revs alot higher and has a higher state of tune engine over the scraptor

awsome awnsers. i was hopping that was going to be the awnsers i was lookin for because i woulda felt like an idiot if you guys were like 700s obviously because of displacement or whatever lol.
