technical difficulties

ok so i cant seem to catch a break. first off, my 28mm carb doesnt fit the damn intake boot. i go out and buy a rubber coupler, of course its too big.

my motor doesnt like to idle. why? i have no idea. with the choke on it idles for a while but then dies.

lastly, the throttle cable keeps popping out of the spring in the carb. i cant seem to get it to stay in

oh and dont get me started on the chain. that has been nothing but a headache.

if anyone has any pointers or advice on any of these issues feel free to chime in

lol, first i couldnt get it to clip, (its an oring chain) then i finally clip it together and like a dick it wasnt behind the axle, so i had to pull it all off. i dont have another person to lift the back end up while i put the front sprocket back on. and i dont think its long enough. so idk what im doing with that

When you put the chain on you want both of the sprockets on. Then put the chain adjuster full loose. Wrap the chain on there, pop in the link, then adjust the slack.

I am LMAO right now because I just got through filing the lower left bolt on the intake down and taking a bit of the 28mm carb as well so it would fit. LOL. I am right there with you.

Also, my great intake idea is an "epic fail" at this point and I have a tool in the stock boot to make it stretch to fit over the mouth of the 28mm carb. It fits fine on the engine side, but the bell side is too large for the boot.

You'll get it. You just need more tools. LOL.

i've heard of guys dremel tooling out the boot some to get a size or 2 bigger carb to fit in a stock boot

you know that you have to loosen the two horizontal bolts that hold the carrier on as well as the adjuster nuts/bolts right?

ya its a 17mill bolt on top with a 14 mil nut loosen the bottom one it is 2 17 mills on both side then loosen the adjusters and hit the axle forward with a soft hammer so it doesnt scracth the paint lol

What side are you having trouble with? Carb to engine or carb to air box?

whatever is stock in the 28mil carb is my jetting, which prob isnt good but i havent done any riding yet so i couldnt have messed anything up. and the carb to intake boot wont fit, it fits in the engine side.

Change out the pilot jet to a 50 and try a 162 main.
It should run A LOT better.

I will start a new thread this weekend........with pics!
The intake is a "GO"!!!!!!
Just to give a little teaser................................
I used some tools and a heat gun to coax the tube to expand so it fits right over the mouth of the 28mm carb. Then the stock boot goes to a short tube and a 3" inlet K&N.
It's looking pretty good!

yeah i was goona say use a heat gun or just boil the boot on a stove and then slide the carb on when u dry it off.
