i have a k&N now and it runs great with out re jeting the carb do u think it is okay to run it without the lid. or would it be to much air flow.

i had a k&n, toomey and lid off and i dont think it was re-jetted after the toomey was put on.

If you only have a K&N with stock pipe, id just go to a 240 main and take the lid off, it actually makes a difference!

yeah that sounds about right, i had a 310 with the toomey an K&N.. then i took the lid off and didnt rejet.

Well a 230 or 240 could be a stock jet, depends on what year it is and what temp the bike was meant to ride in. I have a k&n with lid off and stock silencer with pro circuit pipe running a 270. You will need to rejet with lid off even if it seems to run ok, its lean...

K&N recomends that you run your filter without the stock lid. rejet to 240. and check your plug. see how that is running and go up if you have to. I dont think you will especially if you are running a stock pipe and silencer.
