Why was an aluminum swing arm never made for a blaster or any quad for that matter?

Other than the twisting factor from separate rear wheels, i see no reason a quad swinger is beat up more than a dirt bike which has an aluminum swinger?

Like you said. There is ALOT of force on a dual wheel single axle with twisting and all..

I THINK it was the older lt250 full floater swingarms (with the round axle carrier) that can be fitted on the yamaha blaster for a good +2 inch longer aluminum swingarm. You have to cut spacers where the swingarm bolt goes through the engine to keep the swinger straight.

All the newer model quads have aluminum swingers like my yfz450 the trx450r

Don't know about the newer ones, but the old Zuki arm isn't very light and had issues of cracking. How much does a "newer" alum swinger weigh?

If you really wanted to save weight, chromo is the answer.

Win the Lotto and get one made of Ti.

I dont know the exact weight but when i had my swinger powdered off of my yfz i remember it being very light.
It is all cast not a single weld on it and it was completely hollow there was rubber plugs in the bottom you could see inside of it, i assume they were to remove the sand after casting.

Well News to the party is that I just broke my swingarm clean in half! Metal fatique from the twisting force sheared right through 2x1 inc rectangualr steel tubing. So im in research and development phase again! Keep a look out for my progress!!

By the way, this is what I had made that lasted about 4 years

And is even possible to modify it to fit a Blaster. Actually I should ask if it is practicle.

Geeze Blaner, was this after your big ride? Thought it looked pretty bullit proof. Pics of where it cracked, or it didn't happen :D

Pics Coming Soon!!! :) Ya I was about 20km from the end on the ride and bang! it went in a steep and badly rutted uphill. Bikes took some serious abuse! will have pics etc soon.
