Swingarm Skid Plate

hi im wondering im wanting to paint my swingarm skid plate as its abit rusty and paint is flaking. can i clean it with a grinder and use hammerite metal paint? im after suggestions for colours as im going to be painting my plastics white. and il have rock star yellow stickers on the plastics so was thinking yellow but what other colors would look good

For it to t look it's best you should use a paint stripper,clean well,primer then paint.

would krylon fusion paint be suitable? it says on tin it does metal. as would just paint it same as plastics

best thing for that would probs be powder coat. but for the price it would be to powder coat, ur probbs better off getting a new one. the skid plate takes probs the most abuse on a quad. all the dirt rocks and other stuff that hits it will ship the paint very very fast i would think. i could be wrong.

yeah the paint iv got for plastics once its been drying for 1 week its stone chip free but il see when it comes to it i might just clean it up and leave it or may spray it but il see when it comes to it won't be able to get anything for quad for few weeks as waiting to sign on

ahhhhhh i see. ehh then just go for it! i mean the worst that will happen is that it will chip lol wont break or anything.

haha i wish man i wish iv always wanted to be from usa my grans auntie is from canada ! yeah dude it gets on my nerves lol half of the bikes i have had i have had to send abroad for them as you can't get parts in the uk. like i had a skyteam 200cc dirt bike and i waited like 6 weeks for a front fender and time it came i sold the bike lol but im keeping my blaster now as this is a really good forum for trouble shooting and to get help on other things and general chit chat

just hope my quad runs once the tors kit and idle kit are fitted it should as when i took the tors block of the carb i opened it up and i noticed the switch for the idle wasn't there so im guessing that's why it wasn't revving. but its now sitting in a box at the back of my shed as won't ever be fitted again

what is it like being in the air on a quad? just noticed your pictures just i have dealt with bikes for years and years and iv only ever had 2 quads well a quad (import and a blaster frame minius engine.) and i never had any balance on a bike as thats why i came off and ended up swapping for blaster

Flying a quad takes a little practice, but when the technique is mastered it becomes comparativly easy.

The launch is important to get right, becase once they are in the air, you cannot throw them around as much as you can a 2 wheeler.
