Even if the crank is toast, a new +3 stroker is only like $180 or so. Running a 4 stroke out of oil would be WAAAAAY more pricey than a 2 stroke.

well he knew he had 2stroke oil in the tank..
anyone who is so ignorant to run a 4stroke out of oil prolly should wrench on a quad anyways

I think i'm going to eat this one and get it fixed, i'm going to call the guy that rebuild it last time and be like, "man... it blew again and it hasn't even been a month" and see where that gets me

and yes there was two stroke oil in it. I'm aware there is a difference in two stroke and four poke oils

Yeah, I know. My point was that the title of his thread is "Stupid two stroke". What I'm saying is that in a hypothetically identical situation with a 4 stroke, the bill would be much bigger. Maybe the thread should been "thank god it's a two stroke!"

Yea, and dont take it to anyone for the top end, how much did they charge you?? Its really easy and rather cheap if you diy. parts are like 95 bucks!!

Yea, 4 base nuts 6 head nuts,
find you a good machine shop to bore and hone.
new gaskets / Piston and rings
put back together.

pretty simple - Don't pay someone to do it!
