I was out riding yesterday, for a good amount of time, and i was in the middle of a field and it the top of 4th and my motor would bog down, so i pulled the clutch and it died, so i thought i ran out of gas flip it to the reserve and started up after a kick or two, took off again, and at the same point it bog down and died again. I thought WTF? i tried to kick it and it was like kicking a brick wall wouldn't move. I called my buddy and he came and picked me and the quad up. I get back to my house and started looking at it and above the swing arm was wet with oil, so i figured i blew it up. Kept looking around and the nipple on the carb where the oil line connects broke off... so the oil line was just chilling on my swing arm pumping oil all over... lucky me ran it for about 2 hours with straight gas... You guys where right... i'll admit it i should have bought the oil block off and premixed.... i've learned my lesson, i haven't even had it back a month yet from the last rebuild... FML...
might sell and get a YFZ.... X(:(X(

hear that people if the "Plastic" gear doesn't break the nipple will..
premix before YOU need to rebuild..
maybe this will save one motor is so it was worth the post.. lol

sorry to hear that man... both the blasters i had were blocked off... my 2001 had a block orr kit.. and my wifes 95 had the gear removed, and the hoses blocked off with a bolt..

gotta premix man!! hope its just atop end and not a bottom end

What all can I expect from this? My buddy said it's prolly the piston rings and something else I can't remember...
it started back up when it was cooled (before I knew the line was off) but sounded like ass and the compression wasn't what it used to be

its prolly just a top end just get it rebored, new piston and rings.
and then get rid of the oil injection and you should be good and back on the trail

Thanks guys. I might wait till Spring to do the work. I've put so much money into in the past couple months... But them agian might fix it and sell it for the new quad... It's just one of those stupid things...

Someone say 240 kit haha
There is no better excuse at this point..

And those are how much? The ones I prices were like 400+ with everything the bore the stroker and new carb how much we looking?
I'm just not wanting to dump a bunch of money in it again. And yfz's are just sexy

yup what samo said... lets hope you didnt cook the lowered end to.. the crank isnt lubed by your premix fuel.. its lubed by the residual oil left in the crank.. so you should be ok

This doesnt make sense. The crank is lubed by the fuel coming through the reeds up too the top end. They are designed to ruin the piston before the crank, for obvious reasons.

he explained it kinda funny, the lowerend is lubed by the thin film of oil that is deposited on there from the premix.

i would say that it is about $150 to rebuild the topend on it...
bite the bullet and get back on the trail but then again i dont know your financial situation
