Stuck

currently i am in the proccess of rebuilding my motor. I just connected the two cases. When i connected them and tightened everything i could not spin anything and the clutch would not move. so i take everything apart and it works fine. Tried to put it back together but seems to get stuck everytime i put it together. What could this be?

is it in gear that could be why its not movin or maybe a bad bearing or u just ddnt put somethin back right or the wrong spacer some where.
i would recomend finding a site or i know one but cant think of it that has the parts diagreams and roughly shows what parts are in each section of the quad and it will give you an idea of how to put it back together thats what i did my first ime rebuilding

hey i have this same problem but i took my motor to my local yamaha dealer and they are putting it together on my 2000 idk what is happening cuz the crank wont turn when you try to put the cranks together

you probably have a washer on one of the trans shafts that goes outside the case, go to Yamaha motor and look under parts for your year bike they will spell out piece by piece and the order it goes, you cant add anything extra or the shafts lock up.

i finally got mine to work but i am taking it to a local dealer to be sure better do it than be sorry and throw away all the money i put into it.
