stroker ?

I'm getting a +4mm for my motor, but i need to wait for some green back, the whole motor is getting overhauled so its costy

i don't run it but i have heard alot of people talk about how they like it
but if u get it then u better get a port to match it to get the most power from it

Yes the cylinder needs to be matched to the crank. It's also not a bad idea to get the head rechambered at the same time. To run a +3 crank there is no case trenching that needs to be done; however a +4 crank does require case trenching.

the guy doing my motor said the +4 has a spacer that comes with it to move the head up slightly

any body used the vitos 3mill stroker yet if so what do u think/

i run it..the vitos one is the same that is sold and marketed by lms (lakes motorsports)... it has abeen a very reliable unit for me for over 3 seasons of very hard drag racing on a very built drag engine...i reccomend it...my buds have had good luck just with general riding on it also..nothing has let loose on one yet... and yeah as stated above and stroker crank needs the ports matched to the added stroke..you will get a little gain but nothing at compared to a port matched stroker setup. still have to trench the cases for the added stroke. that crank spins, so what ever you add to the top to make room for, have to do the same for the bottom. thats why guys run the 3mm stroker crank. no trenching.

adding a stroker crank is nice, but not porting for the added stroke..well you almost have to. it may come with a spacer which may fix the port timings...that would be ok. but your best bet, and for added performance is to have a portjob done for a stroker to your ride style..(i.e trail, dune, drag, mx...etc or low/mid, mid, mid/high how ever you specify) most of your riding is done in the midrange in most cases.

if you decide to go for a ported 240, its a lot easier to do now that you added that crank. if you port your cylinder, well you can still keep it. have it resleeved with a 240 sleeve, then have the sleeve matched to your portjob. (can be done at 1 place too)

im just rambling now, but you get the idea....

btw ported strokers have been known to make 30+hp with ease.....thats not a BB either.

hell yeah i had a 3mm stroked stock cylinder that flotek did..it ran the same times as the piped 450s at the drags....thats in a stock frame..pretty much a trail setup...

theres nothing wrong with the 3mm cranks, never really heard any issues with it....especially if ^^^ this guy drag raced with his....

what do u have to do to the cylinder? How is the porting? I just bought a +4 crank, and my cylinder is ported with a top end emphasis, but what do I have to do to match my crank with it?

you have to do something called trenching the cases with a +4 and then you have to match the port to the crank. so you have to report your motor
