Hi I have 2 top ends. One of them is all stock and the other is ported and has a shaved head. I'm going install a +3 crank and send my stock cylinder to flotek to get ported. He recommended running the spacer that comes with the kit instead of messing with the head. Should I run the stock head or shaved one with the spacer and +3 crank. From what I'm thinking the spacer already makes it so the piston won't hit the head but close enough to have the same affect as a milled head.

I couldn't disagree more, if you are porting it...have it ported for the stroke and run a modified head. The spacers leave an additional sealing surface to cause an air leak. Also, the additional stroke will give you more displacement being forced into the head so you will likely see a noticeable jump in compression with either head vs. stock stroke.

it shouldnt affect the compression ration at all.
all the stroker kit does is affect the STROKE not the compression they have a different lenght rod then stock..

theres a million ways to skin a cat ,if your wanting to run crappy pump gas yo ucan only do so much on compression before detonation ,if its done right on flat clean cases and sealed the likely hood of the spacer plate leaking is practicly zero i owuld be more worried about a leaky head gasket i like to run higher port timings and more aggresive than most builders generaly do for the blasters so the plate is what i have had good results with but i have doen them recessed into the cut head as well not really much different if they are ported and spaced correctly ,theres wasy to run thinner gaskets ot tric kthe deck surface for tighter squish clearance

Aside from having more sealing surfaces prone to leaks. Based on my experience it's best to make it as simple for the next person to work on as possible. In other words, always best to use oem thickness gaskets when possible, the more exotic the gaskets and other parts become the bigger pita it is down the road when the topend is ready to be freshened up. Also, anyone who has half a clue what to look for will see that plate and know what you're packin....I prefer the sleeper look myself.

I just prefer to use machine work to set my tolerances and clearances, not exotic gaskets and spacer plates. It may cost a bit more up front, but will be well worth it in the end for ease of maintenance and reliability.

Does the stroker kit add any compression ? If my quad with stock stroke was running fine with my modified head I think it would run fine with the stroker as long as the stroker it self doesnt add compression.

it should be said yo u will have to have the head cut either way if your wanting ot ru n race fuel on high compression and get the most out of your setup becuase it will surely equire the head to be rechambered to get the optimum compression and trapped volume ,never had a spacer stroker fail from a sealing issue but to each his own like i said a million ways to skin a cat
the state title flotek 240 blaster that has the drag title from240- to 310 cc ..250R stroked class is a la sleeve based 3mm plate * motor
