the holes for the exhaust studs for bolting the pipe to the motor are stripped on the wifes blaster, thus for i cant get it tight enough to stop leaking.. anyone gotta good way to tap out the holes for new bolts, or any ideas?? its kind a biotch to get in there with the conventional tap kit that you turn by hand.... and pulling the jugg isnt a option

Take the motor out and make sure its done good and right. Its only 3 bolts like Dave said. It may seem like alot of work just to tap a couple holes but you wont regret it one bit. I have a 50cc chiniese youth atv and I had to pull the whole body, tank, seat, and half the damn motor apart just to tap a hole for the carb. on it. It was well worth the half a day of work. sh*t ill even help you do it when I come down idf you want. Ill even bring the tap set if you dont have any.

It is difficult to start the threads straight, but it is possible to put a 6 point socket on the square head of the tap. Then just use a ratchet.

You'll still have the issue of drilling it out to proper size though, unless that's already covered in some other way.

ya it is worth it to do it rght. i used to hack stuff up when i was younger because i wanted it done quickly, but then kept having to fixt it. i have now wised up to the fact that if you do it right the first time, you will have much better results.

note:darn thoes chinese ATVs. to clean the carb and air filter in the 90cc my son used to have i had to take off all the plastics. that was about a hour long job.

i say take the jug off is easier than pulling the motor just is four base bolts and take the carb off and the exhaust.

with taken the engine off the swinger shaft gotta come off chain, carb, stator wires, clutch cable and etc.
with the jug just slide out the piston and tada

i agree w/ liljatown. MUCH easier to just pull the jug off vs the whole motor. MUCH easier. you don't even have to pull the spark plug or the head off the cylinder. it's just the carb and the 4 base nuts.....obviously the exhaust is already off.
as for the easy outs, those are just for bolts that are stripped at the head....he's talkin about a stripped base threads.
another option is to try to get a nut behind the mount....i believe the hole for the stud goes through and there's a space behind the base....maybe you can shave a little of it away and get a nut back there.
otherwise drilling and tapping is the only way to go.

Sounds like a good option to taking the jug off, Drill put a bigger bolt in with a nut. But if you like it to look like it did before the stripped theads you need to tap it out to a larger size any way. Be sure to use oil or even cutting fluid when tapping or drilling, It'll make it a lot quicker and easier.
Just my 2 cents

thanks guys.. i not even worryed about the look.. hers is ffor riding,, mines for the loks and function!!! i tryed gettin a nut behind the opening but its a tight fit.. could prob gring the nut down to fit back there.. once this pipe goes on it aint ever coming off again, unless motor blows
