Hi
I have a yamaha blaster 2004. It started with first kick but had no power in any gear and it spitted. Then made a funny knocking noise and died. Wont start at all now. Changed air filter fuel filter plug and cleand carb. All is still stock parts. After it died it kicked harder.
Any help?

? sounds like you need to take it apart and inspect it...there is many vids on youtube..if you need help, :)
a lot of people will post to you just give them time :)

Start by removing exhaust and take a look at piston/cyl. No matter what you find do a leakdown test before you tear it down any further. An air leak may have caused the problem. After test remove reeds and look through there for damage. If you don't find damage to piston, look at flywheel/stator. If all good, pull clutch cover.

Highly suggest getting a Clymers or find the download on here.

if it did indeed make a funny noise and your assuming it came from engine? nobody is going to know unless you take it apart.Something broke...take exhaust off and look for damage metal shavings? look for metal shaving on carb boot side after taking carb, boot and reeds out....Maybe have someone look at it that has experience..

Like Larry's Shee"s post implied, the problem could very well exist outside of the crankcase and cylinder.

When you say harder to kick, is it only harder when you're fighting compression or is it the entire way through?

EDIT: Like Larry's Shee's FIRST post

Okey so I removed the motor and the piston, and sleeve is damaged. Can I take it to an engineering shop and let the machine it and put a 68mm piston in? And what other mods do I have to make if I want to do this?
