Well after a ride and atv wreck i headed hone tuesday when my z71 run outta gas.walkin for help a sheriff deputy stops to help.(just bein nosey).eventually we call a ride and when i get back my truck(with blaster in bed)and trailer(with friends 300ex) is gone.being 10 at night i call tge sheriff and they done towed it.so next morning i go to get it and they have a hold on it.finnally they release everything but my blaster for 600 bucks(first screwing)then i find out that it was stolen back in 1997.in only 24 so they dont charge me with the theft but in out the blaster till insurance and oringinal owner decide what to do.
Any advice on how to deal with this.

That's why You shouldn't buy anything with no title, maybe the guy will sell it to you

maybe the guy already sold it and reported it stolen for the insurance $ ?

thats bullshit what the po-po did to you, what was the reason they towed all your stuff ?
just to collect impound fees no doubt X(
was it off the road ?
at least one knew you were going for fuel, and had to hear the call for towing over the radio, he could have prevented it, or was he behind it ?

only advice ....try not to walk funny after the dry shafting you got :o

A long time ago, My dad sold our 86 TRX250r. This was back before PA had title laws and such. Anyway, around 1999, he gets a call from the police near Pittsburgh, they stated they have his quad and he can pick it up when ever its convienient to him. When they ran the VIN, it was traced back to him. It had actually changed hands 2 times after him.

After my called who he sold it to, My Dad, actually found the guy that it was stolen from, and went and got it for him. We just had this conversation the other day, about how he should have kept it!

Thats my only occurance with a Stolen Quad. Hopefully it will Work out for you.

Awk. Yea truck was actually pulled onto privately owned farm land of which I know the farmer personally.the officer stated to the sheriff it was a traffic hazard....and since I live in such a small town po po kinda rule with an iron fist which the tend to shaft u with.
I will have a copy of original police report of it being stolen and hopefully a response from the insurance

Tomorrow but best case scenario over a month w/ o it.I did also stat to the sheriff about me recently redoing tthe engine and since the vin does match I might atleast get it but its all wishfull thinking.

Keep an eye out for it popping up at police auction.

This is another example why I veiw them as "leagle" armed robbery.

When was the last time you saw "To serve and protect" on the side of their car?
