I noticed on my newly acquired blaster that after riding.... The stator cover is wet underneath..... I also noticed it is cracked.... How do I replace it? Just take the bolts out and replace with new stator gasket and stator cover? Anyplace to buy them from?

If you want new, just order from any place that carries oem parts. Used, go to ebay.
But what exactly is leaking from the stator area? The gasket is to keep junk OUT. Not keep fluids in.

It's like tranny fluid? Red in color.... Doesn't leak when sitting.... Only leaks after a ride... Stick my hand under the left side stator and it's wet.... Red fluid..

Yes if I'm sitting on the quad it is on the left side.... I stick my hand up under that cover And that's where it is wet.....Im new to blasters or 2 strokes in general I don't want to break a perfectly running quad until I find this leak and get it fixed.

Maybe the tranny is just over filled? I just looked and the sight glad is all the way filled... Gonna find the leak ASAP tomorrow....

I'm guessing the 2stroke oil that your using is red. More than likely the crank seal is bad and your leaking gas/oil mixture. Get u a leakdown tester and check it out but it's a easy fix. U just need a flywheel puller and the $10 seal

Pull the stator cover and looks for signs of leakage around shifter shaft or sprocket shaft. ATF is a common trans fluid, which is red. You may have to clean it off good with brake clean then ride it a bit to see where it's actually coming from.

Ok update.... I rode the quad this morning and then looked at the sight glass... It was full last night... Now it's between the two lines? So what does this tell me? Crank seal? And it's on the left side when sitting on the quad.... Is this the clutch side? ( I know that's where the clutch pedal is) if so am I looking at something hard to do?

the left side is the stator cover, the clutch actuator goes in that side and psses thru via a rod/ball/rod deal, to the clutch on the other side

some factory trans oils are reddish, if it's not smokin bad smelly smoke, clutch side crank seal is fine, it would be the other side anyway

the stator side crankseal can leak into the cover, but that would be fuel/oil mix from the crankcase, not trans fluid

and your seeing the oil go down in the sight glass, is pointing to a trans leak somewhere, i'd give the vent tube and the drain plug a good look
it's possible the drain plug is leaking and just running under/across the bottom of the motor and looks like it's coming from the stator cover < my sons bike is doing this exact thing right now due to a stripped drain plug, try'd a rubber gasket, and copper permatex, still leaking, time for me to go to the lt250r 14mm drain plug and re-tap the hole

Where is the vent tube? And the drain plug? And can I put the quad on the back tires straight up or no? Can I tell from the ground?

Also sightglass is perfect right now.... Gonna ride for ten min and see what happens... Also in the sight glass is red....

yes, you can stand it up, wont hurt a thing
drain plug is on the bottom, better learn where that is, tranny fluid should be changed at least a couple times a season, depending on hours

vent tube comes off the crankcase right above the brake pedal/under the cyilnder/intake, you'll see a hose coming off, follow it, should go across and up under the hood, maybe was just venting extra fluid ????

Thanks let you know how it goes!!! Theses little buggers are fast!!!!

I have fmf pipe, pro circuit silencer, 220jet.... Reeds aftermarket, torque spacer. Bored 30over.

220 jet is way too small, thats gonna fry, should be at least a 270 main, maybe bigger

I would expect at least a 300 (maybe a little less if high in elevation) if the oil injection is eliminated and the airbox lid is off as well as the pipe and reeds.

Read up on how to do a plug chop, install at least a 300 main jet (if below about 3k feet) and do a plug chop to see how it looks.

I think a 300 is too big on an FMF. Id say it should be closer to somewhere between a 260-280. FMFs are more of a low-mid pipe than a mid-high pipe.

But I also agree that 220 is WAY too small. Hell a stock jet is a 230.

Check the end of the vent hose up under the hood. I had a mud dauber wasp plug it up with it's egg nest, caused the sprocket seal to blow right out of the case. I know I was overfull (oops) plus riding hard. Luckily no damage to seal. BTW Belray gear saver is red just like atf.
X-2 on re-checking your jetting, or else it won't be "Zippy" for long.

I think it's my front sprocket seal.... I rode the bike Maybe 5 min.... Came back... And it's no in te sight glass.... Lifted the quad up... Toke stator cover off nothing wet.... Then I noticed I could wiggle the front spocket back and forth like in and out alittle.... And noticed that's where it is close to being the most wet....

Also I have the dynotune jet kit and they give me 200,210,220, then right to 340!!!! Where can I get a 270 or so jet?

I'd send that kit back=useless. Carb Parts Warehouse, Jets R Us, E-bay, stealership, ATV/motorcycle shop, maybe sno-mo shop. Take your jet with you to match-up
