I know this is a Blaster forum which I have one. But this question is about my KX100 Kawisaki, It will fire on the first kick almost everytime runs great for about 5 minutes will rip thru all the gears and then it just comes to a stalling stop like it is running out of gas. Cant get it started, I pulled the plug and it was a little black, Cleaned it with a wire brush and put it back in, Kicked right off with the first kick, Rode it for about another 5-6 minutes same thing almost like it is running out of gas again. This time I pulled the plug it was kinda wet, Dried it off and blew some carb cleaner on it to get more black off the electrode, Changed the gas out with Repsol 2 stroke oil, Cleaned filter and put it back together. Fired right up again on first kick sat in garage and ran it for about 10 minutes at idle and so far it hasnt died. Could it have been just some crappy premix? I used just standard 2 stroke oil in it before all this happened. Anyone have a recomendation of something?

Have you checked the fuel flow from the petcock? Idle won't use much fuel, But open throtttle will use more. Which can use up the fuel in the bowl faster than it can fill if the petcock is plugged.
Next thing to do if the fuel flow is strong is cleaning the carb and checking float level adjustment. that's the area that regulats fuel flow, Maybe clogged or sticking.

Thanks, Yes I checked the fuel flow from the petcock, Its getting plenty of fuel. I drained it all out last night and hopefully today I will see if everything I did yesterday worked. Thanks again

what are you mixing at? too much oil will get the plug fouled and it will loose spark.

maybe your fuel line to the carb is blocke or ther is something at the bottom of the bowl that gets sucked up under WOT but not at idle. strip the carb and clean it out.

I ran it today for about 20 minutes, I was told to run it 32:1 just like my blaster. So far it still runs we will see how it goes the next few days.
