sprocket

Stock gearing is 13-40. We have yet to see a blaster NOT benefit from running the 14-38 gearing. This combination will lenghten the gearing out giving you a much broader shift pattern.

If you're looking to change sprockets, look at your chain very closely. Never install a worn chain on new sprockets and vice versa.

The 38 tooth sprocket is 4th most requested product that we sell in the blaster line.

could some one clear this up for a noob?

Sprocket 101 TAKING 3 teeth of the back is ROUGHLY the same as adding 1 tooth to the front.

more top speed is a bigger front or smaller rear.

somebody mention running 14/42, that is pretty much the same as stock, would not be noticable and a complete waste of money.

you have a pipe, remove the arbox lid and rejet, then swap the front for a 14. you should be good.

the larger the rear sprocket the more low end torque you have but no improvement on top speed, the larger you go in the front the higher the top speed.

going up to a 14 tooth sprocket in the front will make you a little faster on top end without a noticeable difference on bottom end loss.

i ran a 14/40 on my sons stock blaster and it worked well, and still run it now on his 240bb blaster and the same on my 240bb blaster.

for a noticeable difference in top end i would go with 14/38 but you will have a noticeable loss on bottom and midrange.

i think that you should get 14 for front and 38 for back the small in back the less it takes the front the move it all depends on how much HP your blaster is making the is diffrent gears for diffrent HP, you should get it bored out and than gear it up..

For more low range you go smaller in the front and bigger in the back.. I liked the 14/40 with 18" rears,,,felt just right. Not a huge top end machine anyway.
