I am looking at getting a compression tester from a local hardware store, works out to be cheaper than holeshot's homemade ones due to the shipping to canada. Anyaways, it comes with 12mm and 14mm, would these work?

yes. B8ES. " B=14mm thread diameter." 8=heat range. higher number the colder the plug. E=thread reach 19mm. S=firing end construction. standard.

yes, but this thread is about a $10 compression tester replacing a leakdown tester, like holeshots, these are 2 different animals, and one does not replace the other, a compression tester tests the compression made, and a leakdown tester tests for air leaks

A compression testwr should still find air leaks should it not, if there is an air leak wouldn't you be loseing compression?

no, because it won't test the bottom end or anything, the only way you'll get low compression is if the head gasket is leaking.


and this won't hold actual pressure in the cylinder, so you won't be able to diagnose where the issue is ..............

it may be cheaper for you to just go to the hardware store and buy the parts and assemble one yourself
