take it to a yamaha shop theyll bore it and order a piston and gasket kit for you. just take the jug in not the whole bike its like 180 dollars for everything
so what do i do about the bearings? i remember my buddy saying one was bad or somthing what if i just took the whole motor to the yamaha dealer and had them bore it new piston and fix the bearings? that shouldnt cost that much right?
that might cost you but with the kit you get a new bearing for the top of the cranck once you take the topend of you can check the crank if there is play up and down then you need new bearings if not then just leave it and get the new top end put it together and be done with it. make sure if you do it yourself you stuff a clean rag in the opening so you dont get nothing down there (in the trans case). do a break in and a plug chop and your good to go.
i just put a vitos 240 on, they do have flaws but a dremmel and a stone or just sanding cart. you can polish it nicely, and if you do a 240 youll need a good pipe(vito's or right bend) and carb (30+mm).
well iv decieded to buy the 240 kit when i get the money also it will get the vitos pipe and keithin 34mm carb and jets. after the motor work is done then ill start on accesories like rims tires paint plastics all the good stuff i also plan to buy V force reeds and possibly a new crank and bearings not sure yet. i got a question though. if i wanted to could i put a new crank and bearings in? is it hard to do i know i can do the top end that not a big deal its just the crank i might have a problem
