ok well i went to fire up my balster for a ride today and noticed 2 really bad things. 1. the bikes leaking gas everywere (could be just the float idk) and most important i think it slung a rod i start it up and it makes a horible knocking noise have absolutly no clue what that is maybe the piston idk but its not running good. and i just have a quick question. are blasters known to have these kind of problems? cause my last one did the same thing and it was all rebuild and i could never get it to run just right

blasters are not known for these kind of problems at all, the carb could most likely have a stuck float, that knocking noise is probably piston slap which is very bad
Remove the head and look into the cylinder see if its scarred or anything

first gotta figure out WHAT is wrong with it

if it is hurt bad, its going to be cheaper to just rebuild what you have. if you're wanting more power, getting a pipe and better carb will do wonders. but figure a rebuild with a wiseco piston and stuff is going to run around 200 bucks. the vito's kit is also pretty well known to have casting flaws, and comes with a weak cast piston.

i just put a vitos 240 on, they do have flaws but a dremmel and a stone or just sanding cart. you can polish it nicely, and if you do a 240 youll need a good pipe(vito's or right bend) and carb (30+mm).

well im pretty damn near sure it has piston slap from starting it up and hearing it run i just did it a few minutes ago. its just not as quite as it used to be now its really loud and sounds like a ting ting ting but a loud tinging noise. and do you think that vitos worked out the flaws on there kit? or are they the same. with the flaws and all that. and i have a question. my last blaster was a 1995 and ran great all stock. it ran great and it had piston slap for about 8 years and every day that bike started up and ran beautifuly. the day it got bored out is the day everything went wrong with it. and on this bike i got now my buddy told me that the bike had a bad bearing in the crank? do they have bearing in the crank i dont have a clue and do you think it could maybe be that

if its got a bad crank bearing then you need to split the cases and replace them. if its a side bearing, you can test by pulling the stator cover, grabbing the flywheel and trying to move it up and down. to test the big end bearing on the crank you have to pull the top end off and check for up/down play in the rod

so it i did get the big bore and instead of getting the vitos pipe could i get a toomey B1 pipe and silencer. i heard there really good pipes for the money

i dont have the slightest clue how to do any of that. im smart and all but never worked on a 2stroke in my whole intire life (well im only 15)

toomey has a really good pipe, id say its more of 200cc pipe, stock or with other mods, and a vitos pipe and right bends(trinity lrd dynoport f7) are good for highly modded stroker or 240 bikes.

most everyone on here is going to say rebuild it. you just need to make sure you follow a good break in procedure, and it will be fine.

you will be fine just listen to the guys ask specific questions. its real easy to do a top end rebuild. ive never worked on two storkes before i got one but im in the process of a top end rebuild. dont be discouraged to try it. maybe hold off on the vitos 240 and just do a bore that way your not wasting a whole bunch of money on your first rebuild. eventually you will have to do it again.

you need to take the cylinder to a machine shop, and they will tell you what size piston that you need to get
