Something seized?

So I've been out of the country for a couple years, and left my blaster with my family, and not too long ago my brother was riding it, and it just wouldn't start anymore, (they don't have much experience with carbs, so they didn't try to resolve the problem) and so they did a pressure test on the cylinder, and it came out good, but shortly thereafter and before they got it running, the kick starter seized. I got home this week and they had the clutch cover off, so I put the kick starter gear back into place, put the return spring into the hole and put the cover back on and everything, but it is still seized. I tried kicking it with the spark plug out so compression wouldn't even effect, but still seized. I can shift through all the gears still, but can't get the motor to turn over. Anyone have any ideas?

no no no, sorry i jumbled up everything I said, they took the clutch cover off this week, and haven't touched it since. but it seized before they did that

I'm afraid that's what it is, do you think it could just seize up out of nowhere like that? They said nothing crazy happened, it just wasn't starting real easy. Which easily could have been the carb, since it's aftermarket

Before you rip it apart, do a leak down test to see if it is leak free.

If no leaks, the prob could have been caused by no oil, or wrong jetting.

No, I'm pretty sure it's the crank. I pulled the cylinder off and can't get it to budge, pulled the clutch off and the tranny spins freely. So it's gotta be the crankshaft. I'm just not sure how it seized, unless there is some other possibility. I haven't split the case yet. I think today I'll pull the motor off the frame and put it on the bench
