I mix my gas and oil, i've disconnected the oil injection line from my pump to my carb. I blocked the spicket in the carb, where the oil is injected. My question is this, Why would i need an oil pump blockoff kit?? I understand the pump runs idle, while the engine is running. Again why would i need a block off plate???

You dont. I just took the pump apart, removed the internals and put the rest back together and put that back on.

because you can take out the whole injection assembly and save on weight. I dont really see any other reason, but thats just me

^ ya i know, thats why i didnt see the point. and thank you on the cover thing i was gonna say the same thing

some people say that the plastic gear in there will eventually fail, so they get it out of there to save trouble down the road

Good Point.... Ok so I can remove the plastic gear, and still mount my oil pump without the plate?

Yup, and then just reassemble everything. You can toss the driveshaft assembly for the pump, too. It won't hurt anything to run your Blaster with an in-op oil pump hanging on for the ride. Once the drive for the pump has been disconnected, just put it all back together and go! The oil tank and line can also be deleted, if you haven't already taken them off.

i just cut out a little plate from some aluminum plate, drilled the 2 holes and made a little gasket outta some gasket paper, but i did have to cut the bolts, they bottomed out before getting tight, because the plate i made was thinner than the pump
