Smoke like crazy

took the 15 off cuz it was making the chain eat the case.put the 14 on and now i cant ride because my dad messed up my chain.

So now I suppose you will have to get a new chain to mess up on old sprockets!

No way it's for sure his dads fault!

By the time you get done messing with old chains and sprockets. You will have double the money invested in fixing them over and over. Just buy a whole set.

You ever leak test, or even fix the original problems?

It stopped sucking the oilafter we changed the seals. Doesnt smoke as much with the pwk as it did with the tmx. My dads buying some master links today.

If it smokes less with a different carby then it would pay to check your jetting as less smoke could mean a leaner AFR.

Did you plug chop after the carby swap?

What were the results of the leak test after you fitted the new seals?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So you are going to put some new links into an old chain!

I hope you realise that every time the new links go around the older sprockets the chain will tighten owing to the new links wanting to ramp up the leading edges.

Now the danger of chain breakage goes way up.

When a chain brakes, it normally shoots one end through the crankcase.

This can be quite expensive. If the chain jumps off the sprocket it can lock up the rear wheel.

If you are going really fast, even if you are not going fast, this can be very exciting, also very painful.

If you are willing to live with the breakage and lockup risk, by running mismatching chains, for your sake give KOR a call and order a case saver.

we changed the seals when i made this thread. we did a plug chop after we switch to the pwk and it was right on. the tmx pilot jet is the lowest you can get for it. its just a dog on low end, gives it wayyy to much gas.

I power washed my blaster today and after i started it and it ran like crap. I got water in it ): Problem was fixed after about 50 kicks without the spark plug in and up and down the road a couple times :P

I still see nothing to reply too, unless you wish to tell the results of the leak test you did after changing the seals.

still never leak tested it. the chain is fine just keeps coming loose. ive tightened it twice in one weekend after riding all around.

Tell tale sign of a chain on its last legs.

The next time you go riding with that chain and sprocket combination, write the number of the local hospital on a bit of paper and put it in your pocket.

The person who finds you on the trail may need to make an emergency phone call.

That chain is soon going to break if you keep on punishing it.

I kid you not, something drastic is just around the corner,].
