on my blaster i have a small oil leak where the two halves of the crank case come together. is there a quick fix like oil stop leak or maybe putting a bead of gasket maker around it or am i stuck tearing the motor apart to put in a gasket? please help!!!!!

make sure it is coming from there.

if it is ya there's no gasket I believe its a liquid gasket you use. like blue permatex would work

If you want to do it the right way then yes, split the crankcase. You can try fixing it up with gasket maker or some other crap but it will not hold and you will just have to split the case later.

I split my crankcase and it took me about 2 hours to do it. So take a whole afternoon and be riding the next morning. I:I

If you are adding oil to the filler it is not the crankcase that is leaking, its the gearbox.

Do the taste test, dip your finger in the oil on the motor and put a little on your tounge. Then do the same with your tranny oil and see if it tastes the same. If it does then it is tranny oil.

Do the same with the 2 stroke oil.

Not that I would do this, as I can tell the difference by the smell, but I know an old guy that swears by this method.

Be sure of where it's coming from. Do you have a vent hose on and routed properly and is not plugged? Take and completely clean the engine of ALL oil with a pressure washer and degreaser, it could be leaking from a seal or something then running to the bottom then dripping. Pull the stator cover and clean that area being careful not to get stator wet. Be sure also that it's not exhaust spooge running down there. After cleaning it, let it sit for a day or so to allow the oil to leak. If nothing shows up take it for a "clean" spin to get it to good operating temperature then let it sit for a while and look for oil.

If the case leaks you can not use permatex it has to be yamabond or honda has some stuff i prefer either way it has to be specifically for the case halves.

there is some oil in the exhaust, is that normal?

Posted in another thread about 20 threads ago... Quote by you "It needs a air filter and right now i am using castrol outboard oil."

Maybe you have some of this crap oil clogging your muffler packing.

jes wanna add NEVER ADD stop leak, motor honey, friction reducers, z max or any stuff of that kind to a 2 stroke tranny.
The reason being that it will cause alot of drag on the gears and shift mechanisms if it's the thick stuff.
Unless you have a track race bike, you have a wet clutch system.
Friction reducers will ruin your clutch causing it to slip and then glaze over making it useless.

Oil is mixed with gas and not all of it burns, especially if you are jetted to rich, or overly rich gas/oil ratio. This is where "spooge" comes from. I:I

Not to mention some of the newer synthetic oils that do indeed protect alot better burn alot worse.
Some of that stuff passes right out the pipe.
