Had a real sloppy kickstart lever, and could not get the phillips screw out for the life of me.... Heat/impact, it was froze beyond frozen.

I was gonna change the spring and bb, or do o-ring, but when you cant get it apart....

Instead of spending $40+ on ebay, I used what I had laying around. RTV silicone gasket. First I cleaned the inside with PB blast and got everything moving, but still to sloppy. After drying, I used the RTV with it pulled apart as far as it allows. Pushed it in, back out and added more. Over and over. You can now pull it out to kick, and it springs back itself. The lever never seats itself all the way down to the spline slide, but it does now want to stay in. Dont know how long it will last.... but better then before =).

Another use for RTV. Bought my wife a 300ex. Stock air filter was dirty as hell. After cleaning, the rubber boot that is sewn to the filter, was ripping away from the outside foam. The inside foam was intact, and the rest of the filter was fine. A little RTV under the plastic rim, and some weight from a drinking glass that fit the plastic rim, and all bonded up. And yes I did get a new filter, but it will work perfect for a backup, just in case =). The stock filter comes with a metal screen insert, and just looks 10x's more solid then the UNI I got to replace it.

Hope this helps cheapies like me, in a pinch =).
