Sleeve or BBK?

Im not gettng a L.A . sleeve BBK! Im only wanting the sleeve and piston. So whats better vitos bbk, or l.a. sleeve 240 sleeve and piston with a KOR port joband head?

I will, I just dont know if I want to use sleeve and a port and polish or vitos kit. is theport and polish good on vitos? or can I get it done better?

The "factory" porting on a vito's kit stinks out loud. It has TONS of room to grow from the factor casting....

The sleeved cylinder even when properly sleeved is only going to be stock porting as well. It will need to be ported after that's done too. Really, the 20% increase in displacement isn't where the power comes from though! That gives you more torque than the small bore (stock bore 66mm through 68.25mm) which at a given porting makes more HP but the peak HP is from the porting and head work...

Alright, I'm only going to say this once so listen very well..... I see all of these other threads you're already looking for a vito's kit, a LA sleeve kit.. blah blah blah blah.

NO ONE can tell you what mods YOU need. There are many factors to consider here.

#1 your power goal. If you're drag racing, obviously displacement is first place so at any costs, you'll set it up. If you're trail riding top end HP isn't where it's at, you want a nice broad power output

#2 your budget. If you have an unlimited budget, you can buy whatever you want, the skies the limit. If you're working on a reasonable budget of a few hundred dollars, you can't buy a BBK (sleeve or otherwise) AND the supporting mods. You're better off getting a port job and pipe than buying an unported vito's or sleeved kit and not being able to get anything else.

#3 your eventual plans. If you PLAN on building a ridiculously powerful blaster in the future (max POWA) then the displacement will come into your favor. You'll be glad you bought a BBK later but that only applies if you can eventually see yourself going after the absolute maximum power possible.

Only you can factor these things out and decide.

Personally, I like the idea of buying another complete top end to replace yours and selling yours (if it has any life left in it) to help offset the cost. Sleeving also doesn't add any more material around the exhaust port like a vito's or LA sleeve kit (the vito's is NOT an exact copy of a stock cylinder, you just can't easily see the difference) so exhaust port timing and area are limited.

how much money do you have that is what will determine what you can do. we all have big wishes for our blasty's but you gotta be realistic. to build a bad ass trail quad you are looking at about 1500 bux total for engine work and suporting mods. if you can come up with that you need to start building your suspention and brakes to handle it first.

go to kenoconnorracing.com he has prices listed. if it's not there call his number durring buisness hours. he has no problem discussing prices and how he goes about things.

okay, Ill prolly do a +3 stroker crank, 240, head mod, port and polish for trail riding, lightened flywheel, vf3 reeds. sound good?
