i just picked up a 78 enticer. figured you guys wouldnt mind helping since its still a 2 stroke yamaha. yesterday it ran fine for about 2 hours. then today i went riding and after about half an hour it kinda bogged down and slowly died. i can get it to start every 10-15 minutes, but then it pulls hard for about 20 seconds and bogs out and dies again. what do you think the problem is. could it be because its sucking in exhaust fumes? its running a filter right off the carb, no airbox. i might run some pvc tubing from the carb to a vent hole in the hood and put the filter on the pvc.

havent checked the plugs yet. guess i should do that a report back.

First clean the carb GOOD, a can of carb cleaner is only a dollar at wal-mart, (or places like it) so, no "I don't have any" BS excuses.
Take the carb apart, clean all the jets and float bowl, spray cleaner through all the passages especially the vent passages and the metering jet passage & seat.
Check the gas lines for cracks, especially the one INSIDE the tank, I've had them crack above the fuel level where they hook to the fitting that comes out of the tank, which makes it suck air into the fuel line & not get gas. Check the vacuum line to the fuel pump and fuel pump also, (assuming it has one) if it is cracked it wont work good, and cause an air leak :o. Throw a couple new plugs in it & give it a try.
That is where/how I usually start anyway, it usually clears up the problem.
Good luck, keep us posted......
