should i get it bored?

so a few weeks ago i posted that i blew up my blaster...got it tore apart and its pretty much been like that ever since....just shoved in the corner and forgot about it...i was talkin to my dad the other day about it and he looked at the bore and there is no scour marks in the bore...just pieces of the piston melted to the wall..he said that he has a buddy that could bore it out for me but that it didnt need it and his buddy had this acid type stuff i guess that would just eat the aluminum off of the bore...or i could just hone it and probly get that stuff outta there...but this is the original topend and its an 02...so do you think i would just be better off getting it bored or save the money and just get a new piston...

I'd just have it bored and be done with it. A fresh bore will get the cylinder back into spec and be good to go

yup. the cylinder could be out of round as well. its best to have it bored and put in a fresh piston because the odds are that you're going to have too much piston to wall clearance by simply honing it

Do what YB and Brandon have stated. Get it bored just to be safe, it could be too far out of tolerance with just a hone and new piston.

alright guys thanks...thats what i figured should be done...but i was raised learning and doin what dad always said and he was kinda back and forth with it too..so now that thats cleared up ill just get it bored....
