should i buy this carb kit?

anybody? would it be a good carb?....my quad is bored.060 supposably has fmf full exhaust, vforce 3 reeds.

I have mixed feelings about those 30 mm carbs. OKOs are supposed to be OK, but I'm still a little leary about chinese stuff. That carb listed in the original post would be good if you wanted to up throttle response and tunability with a small increase in actual HP. Be sure and buy from someone reputable like CPW though because there are a lotta jokers out there selling non-prejetted carbs.

I bought a Keihin PWK 28 from a guy on ebay that was supposed to be for a Blaster, but instead was a standard jetted carb. With the stock #38 pilot jet and #135 main jet it would barely run and wouldn't idle at all. Finally a very cool guy at SUDCO told me that they jet this carb specifically for a Blaster with a #50 pilot and #160 main. Still have to try it and see how it goes.

Also of note, he said that for every 2000 increase in altitude they reduce the main jet one size, and for every 4000 they reduce the pilot jet one size. Very good to know since I live at 4000ft.

These are just ballpark recommendations. but damn it's good to start SOMEWHERE!

First off there is no way to guess as to what the correct jetting there will be from bike to bike.

Second the 50 pilot is really too big for a blaster. We sell over 75 of the OKO carbs a year and we have yet to have issues with these.

So if anyone is looking to purchase on of these carbs, from us or someone else, rest assured that you will be getting a quality and proven product.

p.s. no matter what, you will have to dial in the carb to your bike to get the proper jetting.

You are exactly right PITBOSS. Remember I was throwing those figures out as a starting point. If you have a better recommendation, let's hear it.

My point in posting was that a box stock PWK 28mm is a good carb but that it seems to be jetted for a 50cc scooter! My carb ran so bad I thought it was defective at first. Beware the anonymous seller when it comes to carbs. Buy pre-jetted from a reputable seller.

And I certainly have no beef with VCA/Project Blaster. You guys are great and have helped me before. Exactly the kind of supplier I was recommending!

Oh and I wasn't really knocking OKOs, just that you can buy them cheap all over ebay, but that they won't be set up right, and they seem to come in different flavors. Given a chance to do it again, I'd probably just buy the 30mm OKO from YOU!

I didn't take it the wrong way, I realized what it was that you were saying. Just given the fact that there have been those looking at hydraulic clutches and rear brakes really cheap from China made for the knock off bikes, I do not put these carbs in the same league with them. I've yet to have a problem with these carbs and given the amount sold, if there would have been an issue it would have shown up by now.
