shifting problems need help....

ok so about 3 months ago i swapped out my old crank for a new 1. i complety assembled the engine and put it back 2gethor. i forgot 2 tighten the clutch screw so my clutch was extremly loss but i fixed that. when i go to shift it into gears it doesnt wanna shift ill push it and it sticks and then try's to go. when i get it 2 go and ride it sometimes it slips into neutral. it seems that my shift shaft is slipping my shift star idk any help.:)
 
A few things can do this. Did you check the dogs where the gears engage? The edges should be sharp. Make sure the bolt on the star is tight and the key is in good shape. The forks could be in wrong. When you look down with the stator side of the case off, the forks are numbered. Number one is the top one on the right, # 2 is the fork on the left and # 3 is the bottom fork on the right. Make sure the forks are in the grooves. Did you check the forks for wear? Check the stopper for the star for play or a messed up wheel. Also check the shift shaft where it makes contact with the shift star.
