I have split the case on a 2000 blaster, but its only split about a inch, how do I get the shifter rod out of the case whats the trick, it doesnt want to move and the end is welded, does it un screw or what ,
The drum has to be turned so that the points will pass out through the case in their designed slots.
The shift rod should slide out the right side once the shifter is unbolted. If the shifter is welded the to shift rod, you have to cut the rod off clean to pull it out and then purchase a new shift rod and shifter. Ebay or the forsale section on this forum are good sources for purchasing used hard parts if your shift shaft has to be cut off.
the shift shaft pulls out thru the clutch side, with the welded star connected to it
but thats not holding you back from separating the cases, are you using a 2 jaw puller, with 2 bolts into the stator bolt holes, pushing the crank out ???
