On my blaster I have clutch cover off to replace clutch basket but I went to move the blaster so I could clean an oil spot and notice when attempting to put in neutral that the shifter shaft slid in and out. Is that normal. Also when it was pushed in it didn't seem to do nothing and when I pulled it back out it worked does the clutch cover hold that in or is something else do that like maybe it's missing a piece

the clutch cover does hold it in.
when it was pushed out it wasn't engaging the shift star, so that was normal for it not to work in that position.

Thank u guys hey also my choke won't stay out when I pull it out I took it off and the spring looks fine why won't it stay out

has something to do withe the spring in the plunger body I cant remember exactly why it does that....there was I thread not to long ago mabey 2 or 3 weeks ago with your problem and was resolved I'd look it up and post te link but I'm tired as hell

The choke plunger has a couple of grooves on it for the two choke positions. If the shaft is worn it has trouble catching on the grooves. Looks like it is time for a new choke.
