Runs for 3-5 seconds n dies

I have a 91-92 blaster it ran for awhile till my idiot brother got ahold of it. I've had it running for minutes here n there but the dang thing won't stay running . I took it all apart cleaned it all nothing appeared to be wrong with it . This is my first quad but when I kick it now itl run for a few seconds n die I'll kick it again n again n the same thing happens. Every know and again when I kick it a blue flame shoots out the exhaust but I only have half the exhaust on . Help please can post vid or pictures if that will help

No I have not I'm actually in middle of working on it now I'll check it thanks

/\ and also peek in on your reeds, make sure they are still there, and not broken or missing.

Does it help any that everytime I get it to turn over weather for minutes or seconds it just spits white smoke

sounds like bad clutch side crank seal that will cause an airleak you need to leak text before going any further

Any idea on how he treated it when he had his hands on it? What condition is/was the spark plug? Did you install a new plug?

might want to hook up the other half of the exhaust also.. try a new plug and double check all connections..

Just put a brand new seal on the crank case. New retainer clip on the kick start witch litteraly just broke again brand new plug. But sence the clip just broke n my local dealer is closed today I'm going to check the reeds n stuff tonight . . I put on the other half before the clip broke n it seemed to run a few seconds longer but nothing really.

Sounds like you sheared the fly wheel key

I found the air leak and I got it . I tried to kick it a couple more times after that and I got nothing this time

is your fuel supply good? fuel in the float bowl, float level correct? air filter clean and not all gummed up? Like stated make sure you didn't suck in a reed. If your crank seal was that bad you may have trans oil in the case fouling your plug. whats your plug look like after a few kicks? report back with color of the spark you get and how the plug looks..

had the same thing happen to me before and it turned out to be a broken reed
