Hello all im new to this forum and my 01 blater is my first bike ive been reading up on here but cant seem to figure out the problem i have a after market bills fatty and silencer 230 main running 40:1 high test i pulled carb out and tore down and cleaned checked reeds and there good clean air filter the bike is completely stock except pipe air screw set at 1-1/2 turns out plug is b8es will start on first kick runs great power in every gear tors deleted also.... my issues are in 6th gear at WOT after a 1/8th mile it will bogg is this normal a rev limiter? It will not do this if im just under WOT. And also sometimes at idle it revs up and down on its own in neutral.. on a hill in gear it will slowly slip stop slip stop almost as if a bad clutch but it shifts fine and finally i did a plug chop after i cleaned the carb and it was black... im thinking of drilling air box to see if helps im going do a compression test tonight as well. If anyone has some pointers please help me out ive learned so much already i just want sum experienced advise on what i can do otherwise bike runs great imo i just want it to run its best thanks

I think you have more than one issue here.
Sounds like an air leak to me after reading the above quote.
Very bad! I would not ride until I performed a leak test to see if it has a leak.
A leak = lean.
After it passes the test, we can figure out the rest.

I plan on it but also ive been riding it regular and hard almost every weekend too thanks for the input

Ok did my compression test and bought a new plug ran it 2 miles hard not seeing the rich now maybe a little lean? 230 jet after market pipe thats it im thinking about checking the carb to make sure floats are right till i can build a leak down tester what do u guys think??

Joe's not lying to you...leak test the motor to make sure it's leak free before you ride it again . An air leak will make it nearly impossible to jet right and will burn down your engine sooner than later . Looks like the tors unit is still on there from your picture . Get a tors kit with the new cable...carb top and idle screw . Then throw the tors brick in the garbage . That's an UNI aftermarket filter...keep it great filter and remove the airbox lid . You also need to pre-mix at 32-1 . 40-1 isn't enough oil for these little air cooled engines . Your last pic. the airbox connection looks to be off on the bottom . Make sure that's on all the way it will cause an air leak . You're going to need to get 270-300 main jets also cause that stock 230 is too lean for that pipe...air filter and running pre-mix.

I also got a new plug and it definitely not running rich now i drilled the air box im not going to ride till i leak down and gets jets and plug chop .. also i unhooked the tors at throttle and under plastic front and unhooked from the giant thing on top of carb ill get the kit i really appreciate the help once i leakdown ill post results i only paid 200 bucks for the bike from a idiot who knew less than me he was riding it with out the clutch cable connected reason im thinking its slipping from the clutch...
