when i rebuilt mine it still had the original piston an rings that lasted 9 years an could have been a lil bit longer but i wanted more power
 
yeah i think ill get her honed get it ported and put some new rings in i mean it cant hurt and i will have it apart so what the hell!!!

personally i'd probably only rip it down if there's a problem. BUT if you're not gonna be riding for a bit anyway, its always fun to tinker with the toys I:I
 
im still on the stock topend witch would be 12 years and i still have the oil injection idk if is has been re ringed tho but i would hone re ring and have someone port it
 
Well when my friend bought his Blaster, a month later the piston shattered cause the guy he bought it from just honed it and re-ringed it. If you have it honed the piston is gonna clack on the cylinder which will turn into a big problem. I dont know if this helped but thats what made me not just get rings. go ahead and bore it like .10 over and then get it ported with a Wiseco Piston Kit. Just thought this would help.
