Hi i just bought yfz 450 hubs for the rear and about to get some 9'' rims for it. What would you recommend 22x11-9 , 20x11-9? What is the difference.? I would like them for the snow but i also ride in loose dirt and mud the tires are maxxis razrs or itp holeshots.

It's the size that control the speed/power and the tread/pattern which control the traction. Do you want to go faster or have more power. 22s = more speed, 20s = more power.

22 x 11 - 9 = 22"tall x 11"wide - 9" rim

so with a 22" vs a 20" tall tire.....you get 1" higher rear clearance with the 22's and a little more top-end speed. The 20" gets you a little better acceleration out of turns. Prolly not enough for you to notice though.

I run the 20" ITP's and they work great for me. Most guys seem to run 20's or 18's....but if clearing rocks or logs etc is an issue where you ride, then go for the 22's.

Good luck!

im rocking 22's and love it. I dont notice any lug or struggle to brake loose on any surface from a dead stop with them and they hook good with nice tread. They are x/t dirt grabbers on the bike when i got it.

I run 22x11x9 razor 2's and i love them, i changed my gearing to compensate for the taller tires. It all depends on how much ground clearance you need really.
