Ricky Carmichael Rides A 2.stroke 08

didn't know he even quit riding. did he just get tired of winning? lol i know he was a beast in his day. guess he just took some time off for life.

he announced his retirement soon as james beat him the first time.. i think he is just a sore loser and cant handle anything other than winning

he anounced exactly a week after james beet him first then rode out his contract from suzuki so they did take his a$$ to court. I remember the race when james actually lapped ricky... i thought the red head was gunna cry when they interviewed him lol.

??? When RC crashed? when was this? This is what is documented.

Carmichael campaigned the 2006 Supercross season aboard an RMZ450, his first attempt at indoor competition on a four-stroke. It was the most exciting series battle in recent memory. There were multiple points lead changes and race winners, and Carmichael, Reed, and Stewart all entered the Las Vegas finale within 5 points of each other. With Carmichael and Reed tied for the lead, and Stewart only 1 point behind them, it was a close race. Carmichael rode to a safe second place finish behind Stewart and ended the series with 6 victories and his fifth Supercross championship. He indicated that 2006 would be his last full-time season and planned to retire the following year. In the 2006 Outdoor National Championship season, RC once again dominated all comers, including James Stewart, in winning 9 races and placing second twice. However, at the season finale at Glen Helen Raceway, RC suffered a terrible crash while challenging James Stewart for the win and was unable to finish the race. Fortunately though, Carmichael had already clinched the overall championship at the prior round. In the crash, he sustained a shoulder injury and was unable to compete in the Motocross of Nations race in England. Ivan Tedesco replaced him on Team USA and helped lead the American team to victory.

in the end his last season
As planned, Carmichael raced only a partial schedule in 2007. He would only race select events for Team Makita Suzuki while pursuing his new stock car career. Again, Carmichael continued to amaze and looked faster than ever, with three Supercross wins and six Outdoor National Championship wins (every race he entered).Carmichael capped his career with a winning performance at the X-Games and a victory with Team USA at the Motocross of Nations in Budds Creek, MD (which was held in the USA for the first time since 1987). As of today, he is arguably one of the few "winningest" riders of all time.

the one supercross when he had the small get off in the turn on the first lap then like a lap later he went off track when i believe wey block passed him. it was the worst i saw him do. i believe that was dallas 07?... dont quote me on that but when james came around to lap ricky he suddenly tried racing hard and took out james, then james got back on and blew by him. i have to say ricky's last few years he acted much like one of the alessi's on the track. im not takin anything away from ricky, dont get me wrong hed whoop on me any day, i just dont like how pre-madonas like ricky and mcgrath quit soon as the going gets tough and look at tim ferry or kevin windam they both are pushin 40,,i believe ferry is 41 now?

still cant deny he was a great rider and did a lot for the sport, like him or not

even mcgrath came back for a few years to redeem his image as a sore loser and lost with pride. ricky has yet to... its a publicity stunt so he doesnt loose his GOAT title with the fans. all the product companies he endorsed definitely bought him out so the could still sell under his name

He went to nascar and bubba plan to race nascar also per an interview he had.

Ricky went out on top and young enough to try another career path and had some bad injuries prior and new he could not keep that pace with his prior injuries.

I think when you have as many titles as McGrath and RC they have a right to do what they want to. Bubba has not followed in the their foot steps yet and now we have Dungey and other moving up. What will happen to bubba?

tim ferry or kevin windam they both are pushing 40,,i believe ferry is 41 now? They are gladiators to be here racing at their age and also have the support/sponsorships. It's a young guys sport.

Heath Voss used to ride at my friends track in the winter, and Donny Schmidt practice mx in the snow.

Where's Bubba been. He has had some bad injuries and probably will not be able to keep at the pace he was at, at least not consistent.

Bubba is fast but crashes often as if he over rides himself. And i whish he would look after he crashes before he pulls out on the track, cause he been hit so many times.

I whish Travis P. would have stuck it out to take the big bike title also, but would we have seen the double back flip. lol Travis said he could not stay at that pace also.

every rider has there off days and competition make it great!!!! Ya I guess we all don't have to like the same rider or Teams. H*ll that's what make it fun.

I would like it if he would have a full season battle without any of the good riders getting hurt. Guess that's racing.

Everyone has a younger rider nipping at their heals, but I'm sure they look up at the older rider before they start to compete with them. I remember Dungey at the local supercross track. He took the 65cc title.

I'm curious to see a write up on that...

they didnt call him the GOAT for nothing. buuuuuuuuuuut when stewart doesnt crash he very rarely looses a race, i think he's lost what 1 or 2 maybe when he doesnt crash.
