the other day i forgot to turn off the gas on my 2001 blaster and it filled the motor with gas.. so i it apart and aired it out.. i got it to run again. and it started to run fine i road it around my front yard. worked fine... i stopped and let it idle it idle fine.. then i shut it off.. then when to start it again and the kick start got stuck. but i got it to work for the time being.. and i got it to run.. and it started to rev up so i hit the gas a little to see if it was stuck and it just keep climbing so i when to shut it off and it would shut off... so tried jump off to get a screwdriver to pop the plug wire off and it was in gear and the quad hit my house and stalled, f*cked up my shin .i try to see if letting up on the clutch would help bring the rpms down it worked but then it raced right back up idk whats up with it.. but i need to take the motor out to fix the kick start anyway.. i just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas?

Beside the fact that your carb is leaking down (filling your motor),
the fuel sitting on your crank seals might have caused them to leak.
It sucks in air and basically acts like opening up the throttle on the carb.

Try your idle Screw..Maybe you accidently turned it up..Turning that up would Cause your rpm's to rise even more when the motor is warmed up.With it turned up your motor will ride its self basicaly like your saying when you left the clutch and put it in gear.Sorry paulie But i doubt fuel sitting on the Crank seals would cuase it to do that.I may be wrong tho.if you still feel there is gas in there..Turn it to the off position and run that extra fuel out. Then i would differently Mess with the idling screw.

Hope your right hrdkrtazz- I've been wrong before. Depending on how well you cleaned it, it could be residual gas burning off causing it to rev?

Very True.it could be that Extra Gas burning off the High Rev's Could be it trying to burn to much..The reason i say Idle Screw is becuz if its moving on its own bascialy..thats only the logical thing that would cause that.Deffinitly try and burn all that gas out first with the quad on the off position..Fire it back on it the on position once its dies..Let it warm up for at least 5 mins..See if that fixed it..If not then turn that idle screw I:I

to fix the kick start.. im not take the hole thing apart just the side cover.and ill check out the hole thing.. got the quad used for $200 and i had to rebuild the hole thing. and build the hole wiring harness. so i really haven't really got to ride it to much i just got like like last month. im going to tray cleaning the carb up

sorry fellas, i gotta disagree.
if the carb was overflowing due to a stuck float valve, then the fuel would pour out of the overflow tubes. unless they're all clogged up.
hatchhonda, is there a big puddle of fuel under the middle of the bike and on the back side of the case under the carb? if not, then i doubt that your carb is shooting fuel into your engine. i always leave my petcock in the on position. i never turn it off when i'm done riding and there's never any problems w/ it overflowing. that's why there are the float valve and the overflow tubes. as a safety.
as for the revving. it's most likely an air leak somewhere. i've got the same thing goin on w/ my bike. it'll idle perfect when she's cold, but revs ridiculously high after warming up. i'm pretty sure there's a leak at the head gasket. make sure that all your gaskets and sh*t are sealed properly.
but i could be a blown crank seal. you might have an air leak there.
a good way to test is by spraying carb cleaner around the engine. if the revs drop then you've found your leak.

i turned the the big screw on the TORS clockwise and the plunger went down more.. so im going to see if that will make a differents .and when i took the side case off to fix the kick start and a piece of spring came out idk what its from but im thinking its from the kick start. ill take a pic a post it maybe someone can tell me what its from.

I:II:II:II:I:-D:-DB-)B-)

let us know if that helped..Like i said before.VERY highly doubt an air leak.that spring may very well be from the kick start

this is the peice i found rolling around is the side case.
