Retrieval of broken reed chips

I found that my son's '97 Blaster needs new reeds. There is about one third missing from one. Is it necessary to retrieve the missing piece from the bottom end or will it just get ground to a harmless powder. I don't know what material the reeds are made of. Thanks.

It might have went right out the exhaust.
Personally on my yz i broke a part of the reeds and i never knew where it went, put new ones on and never looked back.

there really shouldnt be to much trouble like specialized said it might have went out the pipe

Sure, they are only nylon or maybe carbon fiber if you have certain aftermarket ones. Either way they can't stand up to a rotating crank assy. They are gone or sitting in the bottom of the case. No worries.
